We will be featuring two new great artists until June 20th 2019.

Meet Syed Raziuddin, a practicing Architect yet a born Calligrapher. It is his belief that the visual density of these complicated architectural forms has a strong relationship with calligraphy and he endeavors to record this with the simplicity of a lines and geometric shapes which when overlapped, intertwined and repeated make dream like images comprising sometimes isolated Arabic letters and words peppered over canvas. His current work explores beauty, and divinity of Huroof (letters of Arabic), Poems and Quranic Verses creating an atmosphere. It incorporates elegant calligraphic forms which are layered with ink and acrylics on paper or canvas with nibs and Qalam (reed pens) using stylized Nasta’liq.

We will also showcase Majid Alyousef’s work – a contemporary artist, calligraphist and designer. His artistic career is a prolific one, some of the projects he worked on including the wall art installation for the Room of the Emirates at the UN building in Geneva, The Horse Museum in Saudi Arabia, and the Year of Zayed limited edition luxury wristwatch. And exhibitions including the Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival 2011 and Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial 2012 and 2014, during which he exhibited a triptych artwork that presented his distinctive style in its early stage.
